Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States.  According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), 40 million Americans over the age of 18 are affected by anxiety — roughly 18 % of the nation’s population.  Depression affects more than 16.1 million American adults, or about 6.7% of the U.S. population age 18 and older.  It’s not uncommon for someone with an anxiety disorder to also suffer from depression or vice versa.  Nearly one-half of those diagnosed with depression are also diagnosed with an anxiety disorder.  Research has shown that women are twice as likely to be affected as men.

Life Transitions

The word transition comes from the Latin word transire, which means “to go across”. And that is exactly what is happening: you are “going across” an uncharted period of your life, no matter how large or small. It is the process and period of changing from one state or condition to another.  A life transition can be positive or negative, planned or unexpected.  Some transitions happen without warning, and they may be quite scary.

There is no doubt that life transitions can bring so much happiness, but at the same time it can also bring so much uncertainty.  Bringing home a new baby, changing careers, going away to college, starting a new job, getting married, and relationships.   Our team can help you figure out the best way for you to navigate these changes, find your inner strengths, peace and balance in life.
